Okay, I am having one small issue with my basecoat...and I think it will be okay after the second base coat, and not apparent in the finish: I have ridges, caused by the aggregate in the basecoat, that I cannot completely smooth out. They are vertical, horizontal or kind of radiate out in a fan shape. Sometimes it seems like the more I work it and try to get rid of them, the more they show up. Anyway, I've seen this on my sample boards and it never shows by the time I get to the finish coat, but it just looks like a much bigger issue on a big stretch of wall. I am not worried about it, but my husband is. I do see some on the ceiling I've already done, coming through the finish coat, but I think it's because I only did one base coat and there are old paint blobs at the edge of the crown molding that got in the way of smooth trowelling. These are only noticeable right around the light in the ceiling, and only at the very edges. So - I think it will be okay, but just need some reassurance.
